Political/Cultural: The AW@L Hour
The AW@L hour is a weekly program on coomunity radio, CKMS 100.3 Sound FM in Waterloo Ontario. It plays from 2pm-3pm on Thursdays. You can listen live on the radio in the Waterloo region or on the internet at ckmsfm.uwaterloo.ca.
The Show features discussions of AW@L’s ongoing campaigns and associated issues. Political outrage, ecology, anarchism and resistance are common themes on the show. We try to use the show as a forum to share information about what we are working on. Most weeks will cover recent or upcoming AW@L actions as well as news from across the country and around the world.
The show also features music from Rebel Time Records, a DIY punk label based out of Kitchener-Waterloo, and other politically themed (mostly punk) music.

As per the holiday tradition handed down over generations, we’ve cleaned up the directory. If the show wasn’t there, or hadn’t produced any content since August 2008 it has been removed. We do this so visitors new to the directory (and to podcasting) find fresh, working feeds, chock-full of new content.
These are the shows that we’ve identified as inactive. After the show name is the last episode date or why they were removed. The reason for removal is in brackets. Dates indicate the date of the last podcast episode in the feed, MIA means that the site is gone and ‘no enclosures in feed’ mean that the site is either a full on blog with no podcasts, or a video podcast that is not putting enclosures in their feed (only making them available through embedded players).
We have carefully checked each show, but we’re human, if we deleted something we shouldn’t have, please let us know (email bob AT rogic.com) . If you’ve started producing again, simply use the submit link on the main directory page to resubmit your show..

Storytelling: Lost Gods
Kweku Anansi is just another member of the African diaspora, trying to make a place for himself in his adopted home of Toronto, Canada. He dreams of better days, of a time when he could be stop running small time cons just to make the rent. He dreams of the life he used to live, centuries ago when he was revered as a god.
A chance encounter with a fellow con man with a dark and secretive past of his own, plunges them both into the dark world of the lost gods, gods who would do anything to be worshipped again. Including destroying the world, if necessary.
How far will Anansi go to reclaim his godhood? What will he give up to have true power again? The answers can be found in “Lost Gods”, a new weekly podcast novel from author Drew Beatty.

Variety: Talking Stick Podcast
The Talking Stick Podcast is a collaborative podcast. Think of it as the egalitarian community of collaborative podcasting. Anyone who has a topic they’d like to explore need only to record a few minutes of audio on the subject of their choice and begin the chain. After several contributions are received, the contributions are combined and minimally edited and posted. Podcasts typically run 20-30 minutes each and include from 2-5 contributors. Topics run the gamut from gardening to communal living to rebellion to teachers who influenced us. Other times topics are less serious and include our favourite recipes, or are a virtual mixtape of our favourite podsafe music.
